August Sub Tour Update
CMCS keeps our members and the Navy’s health and safety first when scheduling Sub Tours. Due to the recent Coved 19 spikes in King, Snohomish and other Washington counties the August 2020 Sub Tour has been cancelled.
We have rescheduled the Tour to Tuesday May 18th 2021. More information will follow on the website and in the newsletter.
Dwain Knollman, coordinator
This is a Members ONLY tour
The Navy has extended an invitation to CMCS to tour their top-secret U.S. Government facility at Bangor Submarine Base in Bangor, WA on TuesdayMay 18th 2021. The group is limited to 35, so early reservations are encouraged.

- Completed Tour Roster with current last name, first name, date of birth, last four digits of your social security number, confirmation of US Citizenship, Title, e-mail address and contact phone number
- Completed Request for Tour form, signed and witnessed (important)
- Completed and signed Privacy Statement
Contact email Dwain through the Club Directory for the required forms OR Click HERE to send Dwain an email. You CANNOT register for this event on-line. You MUST email Dwain.
The day of the tour, you will be required to bring proof of US Citizenship — US Passport, Birth Certificate or Enhanced WA Driver’s License. NOTE: Active duty and retired military IDs are not accepted because you do not have to be a U.S. citizen to be in the military.
If your name has changed due to marriage you will need a copy of the Marriage Certificate or a driver’s license with your current name.
We plan to have a caravan from Fry’s near exit 5 on I-405 departing shortly after 7 AM the morning of the tour and ending at the US Naval Undersea Museum, 1 Garnett Way, Keyport, WA 98345. Participants should bring their club radios.
The tour will depart by Navy bus from the Museum at approximately 9:20 a.m. and will last until about 3:30 p.m. We will tour the Trident Training facility and one of their nuclear submarines and have lunch on base.
Be sure to wear closed-toe, comfortable shoes because there will be a lot of walking and climbing up and down 30-foot ladders in the submarine. Be prepared for a long, but very enjoyable day. Lunch will be at the commissary at a cost of about $6.50 per person. Be prepared to pay your tour leader in cash, as cashiers will only accept one payment for the group. All cell phones, Fitbits, cameras, weapons, and anything with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi capabilities MUST be left at home or in your vehicles. Everyone is subject to search on the base, and all electronics will be considered contraband and will be confiscated.
Please keep in mind that the subs are active and the Navy may be required to change the event date. Dwain will keep you informed about possible tour changes
