May 22 SPRING CASHMERE LOOP TOUR & MEMBERSHIP MEETING/PICNIC

Join fellow CMCS members for a one day loop  tour east of the mountains to Cashmere for a group picnic in Riverside Park.  

Date:  Saturday, May 22, 2021

Starting location/time:    XXX Drive Inn, 98 NE Gilman Blvd, Issaquah, WA 98027. 

Meet about 8:30 AM, Short drivers meeting at 8:45 AM and departure at 9:00 AM SHARP. 

XXX probably will not be open, but there are restrooms at The Grange (also top up with non-ethanol gas) or the Shell station nearby. 

Itinerary:  I-90 to Cle Elum, back roads to Highway 97 over Blewett Pass to Cashmere.  Return via Leavenworth and Highway 2.  We plan to have a group picnic and hopefully a club meeting at the park.  We expect to arrive at the park about 11:30 AM.  

Bring:  Folding chairs, club radios and your picnic lunch and plenty of sun block.  Yes, we are optimistic, but this is eastern Washington after all.   

If you would prefer to get some take out grub, we have listed two potential restaurants in the tour directions.  Check out the menu before the tour date, and you could call the restaurant to order your take out while we are on the tour to reduce your waiting time.  We personally have eaten at the Country BBQ and can certify that it is good food.  We also know from the on-line comments that Milepost 111 is very popular.  One or both of them can be our fall back if the weather is not good, but again we are counting on eastern Washington sun.  

If you don't have a club radio, don't worry.  Alton will be there and have radios available for $40 cash.
